do you remember??
« Reply #20 on: Apr 28, 03, 04:17:45 am CDT »

Now that was a pleasant trip down memory lane. I also remember that, if you misbehaved at school, it meant an arse-whoopin, several actually, one from the teacher, one from the Principal, one from Mom when you got home, one from Dad when he got home and even more if you're visiting Grandparents the next weekend.
Let us not forget other bygone wonders like Gunsmoke and Ed Sullivan and Senor Wences and Bob Hopes All Star Spectacular and the Harlem Globetrotters (the real ones) on Saturday mornings, a fiery horse, a cloud of dust and a hearty...
Ok, I'm done now.

Yes, but that's when a different part of the anatomy takes over the thought process.

Sorry kids... I only read the first page where you were still talking about the "good old days"... didn't get to the part where it turned into sex....
In response to that, I'm always thinking outside the box... it's when I'm inside the box I ain't thinking... of course when I'm outside the box, I'm usually thinking of unconventional ways of getting back inside the box... so I guess you could say that I'm thinking outside the box of how to get into it...

follow?

Careening back on course ...

OK kiddies - I remember ALL those things - most with fondness.  Truthfully, I'd trade all the bad things bad then for some of the "good" things now - like the fact we didn't need no stinkin' cops at the high school or middle school, we had the assistant principal who'd tear your head off or whup your behind if you were out of line.  Nowadays the kids get away with murder - literally.

Or when playing a fantasy game meant using your imagination - and maybe a discarded cardboard box from someone's new washing machine - not plugging in and turning out with a pre-programmed video game where the only intrigue is where to find the cheat codes online.

Now - on to the seemier side of this wayward thread ... as the mother of a studly and handsome 18-year-old, I can understand a mother getting a bit ticky at the prospect of her friends coming onto her son.  And as the mother of that same 18-year-old, I can't really look young men (27 and below) without thinking of my own son - and that's just kinda icky in so many ways.

By the same token - as a mature, worldy woman who's been around the block more than a few times, and downtown as well, considerably younger men are nice eye candy but nothing I'd ever get serious about.  I'll leave March-December romances to middle-aged men who never seem to realize what asses they're making of themselves (like that 23-year-old with the tight body is *really* attracted to a 48-year-old with a bad combover and dunlaps disease ... try wallet).  Hell, *I'm* not attracted to that and I'm 47!

I just think I'm at the awkward age ... too old for the ones with only a body and youthful energy to offer and waaaaaaay too young for the old fuddies my own (chronological) age.  Course - mid 30s to mid 40s  they've either got kids who live with their angry ex or have some major flaw and apparent reason for being a life-long bachelor ... and ... oh heck, *that* is why I stick to the eye candy thing ... it's just less hassle.

As the Baroness often says to the wives of her vic ... er volunteers, "Oh good lady, this is merely good sport, I do not wish to keep him, only play with him.  It is most fun when it is catch and release!"

I hope when I am old and grizzled the sweet young things will still be interested enough in some aspect of me to come and spend some time with me.
