ok guys heres the deal
I wanna look like ranger my name sake and the dude from the tolkien books
Hes a good hero to have and very much a rogue well anyway i would like someone who can vouche for Maspien armours they have a chest armour set that i love.  I saw it and knew i had to have it.  Its the Elo'quien armour on their cuirass page.  If you can tell me weather they are a good company or not id be very grateful.  Ive decided im going with that chest peice and the rest of my wardrobe and a staff.  maybe a short sword for now and than the oakshotte rapier for later on when i have more cash flow.

You won't find better leather armor, except maybe for Leatherworx/Wolfgaard (they're at Tux near Black Prince)props to Dmitri!
But each has it's own merits. there is also the west coast part of Maspien- Mike does a great job too. Depends on your budget. he's at www.leathermonkey.com Maspien tends to be a bit more elvish (could it be Firebow's influence...hmmm)

leatherworx aka www.wolfgaard.com

their stuff is dyno-mite!

what im saying is if i drink to much ale will this thing fit around me or will i have to sell it?
maybe i should ask maispen armours that would be best wouldnt it.  OK thanks for the reply Calen

If you think the armour will "shrink", order 1 size larger. It will also give you room for other things in there. Besides who likes tight fitting clothes anyway (aside from young horny men looking to score with the babe in the tight outfit)?

Also you might ask how much it would cost to have it resized, if that is possible. Some armour can, some can't. Good luck my friend.

Nick at Maspien makes a very good product. If you like his style give him a call. the EL'oquin harness is a cool look...

As for resizing, any "custom" piece should fit you and give some room to let out or tighten. This of course depends on the amount of weight you intemd on gaining or losing... If you plan on gaining or losing 30 or more pounds no amour will fit you after the fact.

I think ive decided dmitri and by the way thanks for helping me.  I took a minute to look around and saw on your web site something that intrigued the hell out of me.  The bear helm.  Now when i was younger i read a series of books called the chronicles of garion.  Or some such and the main character was a kid named Garion.  David Eddings books.  Well my first faire i made up my mind that i would make a costume after one of the characters.  A very short character who only made a one paragraph appearence.  He was a bear cultist and he fought like a madman in a berzeerk rage.  wearing nothing but his bearskin cloak and his bear helm he wore no armor or mail only his sword and his beloved helm.  Now if only i could talk you down on the price
LOL
doubt that will happen......ya get what ya pay for though
soo look for an order from me in the near future.

Ahh... you speak of the Belgariad... I know it well... Tell you what, you can look at mine as I wander around in the Helm.  :-P

I worked hard to get mine... and I actually go in there on a relative basis just to drop off cash... I like having cxredit to just say, "I want that".

Well Shadow, you seem to have made up your mind... twice even ;-)

The helms that Dmitri makes are first rate, and I've rarely seen their equal in leather (hell, even in steel), and you could do far worse than one of his helms (and Jeff's chainmail) ;-)  Hell, I want one of his helms <LOL>

As for the Elo'quin, I can tell you that it is a lovely piece. (yes, I'm biased, I help make the things) The articulation allows for full movement and it doesn't make you feel like being in a can.  There is room for sizability, but as with anything sized to you, radical  weight gain/loss is gonna make it fit funny.  We do leave room for growth tho ' and the way the harness is strapped makes it easy to adjust.  It is one that I'm actually planning on making one for myself, when time allows <L>

And no, Mike and Leathermonkey are NO LONGER affiliated with Maspien Armour in any way.  He's doin his own thing, and that's all I am saying on that.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Caelyn,

Me?  Elven influences?  well...  ;-)

Ok, just a few here and there <L>

...and a few  feline ones too... I can occasionally get catty ;-)

Hey, it's not like anyone else is really doing elven styles, so I gotta throw my hat in the ring somewhere :-)

Firebow i must say the Elo quin armor is beautiful.  I dont like the skirting and one day I will purchase an Elo QUin armor set for myself.  But i think rght now im going with the bear cult look.

And by the way if you helped design it i have alot of respect for you.  IT isnt often you find a good elven influence in armor these days.  Heck even a few years ago there wasnt much elven influence.  and even though im a viking berzeerker type more so than an elf i still love the elfs style

Mac,

I'm emailing you 'bout this too, but I never saw an email... it may have gotten lost in the ether somewhere...  what addy'd you send to?  [email protected] works to get me...

Anywho,  did you have a question on it?  I love the piece, it's a very nice, servicable piece that holds up to practice well without being bulky....

Any other questions about pieces?  Will try to be timely about it all <L>

When I first read that, I could have sworn it said "evil" influences :D I suppose you could be evil if you had too, but I have a hard time seeing it. ::slinking off to get more sleep::
