I'm new here
« on: Sep 18, 05, 05:06:11 pm CDT »

Like to introduce myself, I am Raymore; my home faire is the PARF.
I had joined the IBRSC, back on Labor Day of this year at the NYRF at Tux. I received my pin and a couple of Kiss cards (not sure how one uses these). But was pointed here by a rogue at the Regall Pewter to find out more on the dos and don'ts.
When I joined I was informed that I would receive a package in the mail after Ren season. So my question is this, Who's Ren season, don't they run all year, I mean some where at any given time of the year is there not a faire going on?
Not trying to be pushy I just want to jump in there without getting into trouble…but then again if I am a Rogue…

to those here of the NYRF who came to Wildwood, "Watch the Tram Car Please...."

well guys what's what?

It pretty much is just Lars.  There are a few people here and there who try very hard to help him out, but mostly it's just him.  Look for anything purchased during the Tux run during November, as he's also one of the point men on the NYRF Forest of Fear.  We'll try for sooner, but no promises.

Oh boy...another new asshat for the fire...

Ray - here's the advice we give all the newbies (not that any of them are man enough to take it) - settle in, post nothing at first, read everything and try to figure out the asskicking order here.  Who's the head ass kicker (not you), who's the next tier down (still not you), who's allowed to kick ass (again, not yet you) and who isn't (process of elimination Ray-ray).  Once you think you've got an idea of what flies and what doesn't then start posting adn you'll soon find out who's job it is to kick your crookeds straight.

We've got a lot of people here that used to be newbies (that would be all of us at one time or another, now it's your turn) and many of them thought they walked in with the biggest dick (where as they were just being the biggest dick) and could swing it how they chose.  Barring an exception or two (don't get uppity Aramis, I didn't mention you by name there) most have settled in nicely as part of the community.

We're hoping you do too but until then schools open.  Grab a desk and welcome and keep im mind at all times that dunce cap in the corner.  Welcome to the boards.

Nope.  After NYRF, I go back to hitting people with sticks in the SCA as often as possible.
