Song to rock out to
« on: Jan 23, 08, 05:30:26 pm CST »

Yep - this was a topic over on the wenches board a bit ago, but as I was driving home with "Come Sail Away" blasting I was reminded of it. (/begin Cartman  "Damnit!  Every time I hear that song I have to sing it all the way through!! /end Cartman)

So, what song makes you turn up the volume to full blast?

Gods, there are just waaaayyy to many to list. More like what bands for me.

Dreamtheater's "Pull me under", Pat Travers "Snortin' whiskey", couple of early Pretenders tunes, several Pink Floyd tunes, same for The Who, Floggin' Molley, Some Yes tunes, ELP, Kansas, etc. etc. etc. Just way to many.....uhm, gee and I wonder why I'm deaf. heheheh.

Love Pull Me Under but mine is Down with the Sickness by Disturbed or Heaven by Live, and most Godsmack

Papa Roach has some that do it too.

I would have to say Land of Confusion (remake) Disturbed is one of them of late that I turn up and gets the Blood goin.

Man in the Box Alice in Chains is just bad if I'm driving.

Underdog (remake) by the Butthole Surfers off the Saturday Morning Cartoon CD

And just cause my Spic needs to flaunt Boriqua Anthem by C+C Music Factory

Footloose by Kenny Loggins
Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins
Blaze of Glory by Jon Bon Jovi
Bad to the Bone by George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers

It depends on how I am at the time.

Songs that always get blasted at any time for me:
Scotland the Brave, any arrangement or variation
Regin Smidur, Wings of Time, Hail to the Hammer, by Tyr
Trollhammaren, Under Varge Rot Och Stein, and Fiskarens Fiende, by Finntroll
Pakanajuhla, Karhunkynsi, and Sankarihauta, by Moonsorrow
Dawn of Battle, Wheels of Fire, Dark Avenger, Manowar
Crazy on You, Heart
Son of a Bitch, Highway to Hell, ACDC
Blooded Shore, Bathory
Keep on Rockin' Me Baby, Jet Liner, Steve Miller Band

Almost forgot Cadence to Arms, and the Spicy McHaggis Jig by Dropkick Murphys

for me its pretty much anything by the following:
Pink Floyd, the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Cherry Poppin Daddies, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Santana, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmie's, Sex Pistols, Stovokor, the Ramones, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Tool, Perfect Circle, AC/DC, ZZTop, Frank Sinatra, The Exies, Nofx, Nirvanna, flogging molly

and thats just what i can think up now, i'm sure this list could just keep going....

and lets not forget anything played on the bagpipes. not only is it great to listen to, it annoys the hell outta the neighbors.

Oh trust me, gang, I have no problems with the '80's at all.  I was just poking fun at Lord D for posting nothing BUT '80's tunage.  ;)

Now where's my cassette copy of Guilty of Innocence by Law and Order got to this time?

Nice one.  I gotta get me that album.

There's no such thing as a bad Clutch album but that one's particularly kick-ass.

I just went to see one of my old employers a couple of days ago. Johnny Winter. Dude is going to be 64 in a couple of weeks and he is starting to show his age, but DAAAMMMNNN, that man can still rock the house. I was his entire crew and tour management at one point, so it was really good to see he still had it.

So I see that Clutch vid and all I can think is they had nothing on Johnny, or Stevie Ray Vaughn, or any of the old Blues/Rock guys that I either worked for, or did gigs with. Not saying I didn't like Clutch, but alls I could think was, been there, done that.   :D

Since we are talking music, anyone ever hear of a band called Papa Hoodoo? They have been around for a long time. Never really made it big, but they are still out there and are very entertaining. Saw them a couple of weeks ago.

Speakin' of seeing bands too, going to see the Crimson Pirates in Warwick NY tonight. Yarrrr.
