lulz

Curry said the rabbit being served in the restaurant is no different than chicken, duck, lamb, pork or beef currently on their menu and that he and Wisniewski get many requests from their guests for more rabbit dishes.

Their holiday menu, Curry said, was simply a way to respond to that demand.

"I didn't do this to create a stir or insult or offend anyone," Curry said. "I grew up in Minnesota eating squirrel with my grandfather. To me, it's just food. I don't see what the big deal is."

Man, people just need to get a life.  If it's an animal and the meat isn't poisonous IT'S FOOD SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD!!!  America is supposed to be this wonderful cultural melting pot and a land of tolerance.  Sadly that seems like it's become so much bullshit.

BTW - I've had rabbit and it's damned tasty and the cute little buggers make fun pets too.

Same could go for alligators if you break it up a bit: the babies are cute, the adults are tasty.

Ugh! Meat good!   ;)

Alligator is very good. Similar to Crappie. (Funny name for a fish that tastes better than most).

Elk, deer (white-tailed, mule), rabbit, quail, dove, squirrel, bass, bluegill, shrimp, crawfish, lobster (rock & maine), crab (softshell, oppies, king), mussels, oysters, crappie, aligator, cow, goat, sheep, pig, ... I think that's all the different animals, I've sampled.   Definitely would go back for more of any.

Anybody eat any really exotic creatures ... and liked it?

I spent a week in Tokyo last month and told all the locals I palled around with that I want to go eat in places where:

1) there isn't a tourist for at least 3 blocks in any direction
2) the wait staff doesn't speak English at all nor is the menu in any other language than Japanese
3) they are bordering on being considered to nearly be breaking etiquette by taking me there to enjoy the food
4) if there's anything Americanized or Globalized on the menu I don't want to see it on the table
5) if my local friend would have trouble explaining to me what I'm eating despite a perfect grasp of English then all the better

In the end I ate a lot of Japanese local food from off the beaten path and enjoyed ALL of it...including some stuff I never thought was edible.

Ever try Whale? I'm not sure you can get it in the lower 48...It's not the best thing, (I almost threw up), but Reindeer and caribou are good.

Reindeer is good...

Had bunny a couple of weeks ago at a local Italian place.  Great wine sauce and wide pasta with it....of course I love hassenpfeffer....

Love wild boar...

muskrat is for desparate moments only though...

One of the ladies that works for me promised me some bear next time she gets one.  She just gave me some venison pepperoni her husband makes.  noms.....

I've TRIED sea urchin and conch but I hate anything from the ocean so that didn't fair well.

And it's not just the beastie, it's the parts of the beastie that freak some people out.  Me?  I've got a beef tongue and heart in the freezer right now - right next to the Elk ribeyes.  I eat sweetbreads which are just divine, tripe is not bad in a stew and just about any part of a pig is fair game (I'm like Anthony Bourdain when it comes to pig).  Ox tails are good too.  Tried Rocky Mountain Oysters once but ironically, they tasted like fish roe (blech...)...oh and I eat goat...(barbecued goat is really nummy on a sandwich)

oh...and Mage....bad...bad Mage...bad....
