I got to see Tudyk in Spamalot.

Of course, his pirate character in "Dodge Ball" was a lot of fun too. Heh.

I thought his role in "V" was a mistake for him though. Didn't seem like a good fit for him.

Tudyk would be an awesome anything.  I'd watch a Bozo the Clown Biopic if Tudyk played the main character.

...and now I'm in total fangrrl mourning.

Finished the series yesterday - the movie is due to be in my hot little hands by Thursday.

So, conspiracy theorists... why was Firefly canceled after only (less than) one season?  Politics?

aint much as far as conspiracy, Fox had little faith it, kept changing time aired it out of order and generally screwed the pooch. At least with Dollhouse when they fucked that over they gave him an opportunity to wrap up

The general consensus is FOX has a policy that if their ultra upper execs don't understand it then they screw with it and then can it.  It's why the average IQ target of their primary products seem to aim for the single digit crowd.

My point exactly.  Those starched collar morons up in the top offices didn't get Firefly at all so they effed with its air times and then canceled it before it could generate the fan base that it eventually did with DVD sales.  Joss showed them who has the pulse of the people with brains in this country.  Joss has been my master since 2003.

Ok so I finally saw it ... Fuck.  I mean, I knew who dies already but... Fuck.

I literally gasped when I first saw Zoe in the funeral scene.  Absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous.

I think Kaylee earned her wenchiness with the " I wanna LIVE!" during the final battle.  And she had enough spunk to put Simon in his place more than once, especially the cow fetus scene.  She may be gentle, but she's still wenchy.

Fuck.

I adored Book.  Am still waiting for the Graphic Novel that was to be released to show his backstory.  Ron Glass said that Book got the name from a man he killed...

I think it was the "HOLY FUCK WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!?!?!?!" thing that got me about Wash's death.  Dammit. :'(

And I still wanna know how Book 'knew' things, things that a Shepard shouldn't know... and what the hell was on his ID pass that got him into the Alliance hospital so fast.

There was a scene written for Serenity but I don't know if it was filmed where the Operative was scouting Haven and Book saw him.  I heard it was written that they immediately recognized each other and shared some dialog.  It explains why Book was at the cannon when the assault ship attacked since he would have known the next step after the Operative scouts would be to call down the fire.  I believe the hinted at relationship between them was one of Book's last jobs was to train the Operative before he woke up to what he was doing.

They didn't use it because it would have lessened the shock value of seeing Haven ruined and Book dying.  Also, the way they edited that scene together I couldn't see any way they could have put in the un-filmed scene as a flashback except during the video call between Mal and the Operative where he gets the idea to masquerade as a Reaver ship.  Even there it wouldn't have fit the timing.

Yup, that was my reaction too.  It mirrored what was on screen:  sudden overwhelming shock followed my a numb sense of emptiness.
