Since I grew up not too far from Fort McHenry Francis Scott Key was considered a Maryland hero as much as anything else so maybe we studied it more than schools in other states but we did learn the whole thing.  Granted I hadn't heard it or seen the lyrics in a while but I at least KNEW more verses existed.  It's just like the Pedge of Allegiance and tahat it's not in its original form.
 
It amazes how zealous people can be over something they really don't even know the least little bit about.

That's awesome! I vaguley remember one of my history teachers talking about other verses. I never thought to look it up until now.
