Let me say:  I LOVE 6TH GRADE CAMP!!!!!   ;D

My kid left Monday and does not come home until Thursday afternoon!  It's a bit odd with the little bugger not around, however, I don't have to keep the sex quiet and I have a hot date for dinner with the hubby.

I feel like I am going out on a school night.  *snerk*

You suspect geekiness is genetic when you're explaining your son how to get in a class bully's face and you finally get the message across by telling him to act as if he rolled a natural 20 to intimidate. Cleared everything right up.  True story.

Shoot - I know someone who had to expalin a merger to one of the staff by saying:  "Resistance is futile.  You will be assimilated."

An adult could not understand the concept of two offices combining in to one, but the assimilation - she got right away.

Is it just me or are people just not as smart as you expect them to be anymore.....

I blame TV  .... he says from the cushy recliner in front of the big HD screen.  :o

I blame the people.  It is up to each of us to improve ourselves in both body and mind.

Oh - it's totally the people's fault.

Sure TV and now the internet have given us a quick way to get information but it's now up to the person to decide to be spoon fed the sound bites or go out and read and research.

In a total aside - one of my friends has just eaten one of the new KFC crispy Double Stacks and has thus far lived to tell about it

True story.  I used to be a morning supervisor for a fast food place and did most of the training for new staff.  We had hired this one teenage girl who had no idea about the concept of making change for a dollar bill.  I tried to explained it several times.  100 pennies make a dollar, a nickel is equal to five pennes, four quarters make a dollar, etc.  She just could not get it.  She was off the register really fast.

That's one of those little things that irks me. Register workers who can't count change.  ::)

I usually screw them up by giving them what seem like random amounts of over payment in order to get things back like even quarters.

I like it when they hand me back the change first saying "Here, I don't need this."

Then I just tell them to push the buttons and see why.

Exactly.  :-)

BTW - I love the smell of Green Mountain Kenyan AA in the morning.  MMMMMM...coffee.

I have my happy little Speedway gas staion I stop at every weekday morning for coffee.  $1.26, zap of the Speedy Rewards card and I'm out the door.

I like Dunkin Donut coffee the best, but I have to hit Speedway because it's closer.  Starbucks and all that snooty coffee sucks.  Taste like it's burnt.

Agreed.  Dunkin rules, Starbucks is like drinking burnt acid and the reason I like the Kenyan is my office has a coffee maker and provides free coffee.  Free rocks unless it's Gardo offering a free knuckle sandwich.  That hurts...a lot...after you regain consciousness...for a long time.

As a rule, I don't care for Starbucks coffee, but when I'm in a mood for extra sugar & cream, I really do love their white chocolate mocha, extra hot with cinnamon. mmmmm.  Also, we have a locally owned coffee shop that makes a Mexican Mocha that is pretty awesome too.

Dunkin is good and cheaper, but my wife and wench signed us up for the Gevalia coffee "club?" several years ago and I really like most of their stuff brewed in my own coffee pot better than most outside stuff.

I drink the nasty, but free folgers and work and figure the cheap Walmart arabica is the next best coffee to the Gevalia offerings.

Hows that for eclectic coffee tastes....

The coffee on "Voyager of the Seas", cruise ship was absolutely the bomb. OMFG, that stuff was awesome. Dark, rich and kicked like a thermo-nuclear device. Yaaarrrrrr.

Up until I had that, Blue Mountain coffee had been my fave. Gawds I miss that stuff. Actually, I miss the ship too, but as 6th said in another post, I hate not being wealthy.

Blue Mountain coffee had been my fave.

Jamacian Blue Mountain! ... one of my faves and a rare treat. Repeated dittos on the poor thing.

Now I'm curious. What was the coffee on the ship?

It's my birthday tomorrow... here's hoping that people that suck don't ruin it. I've already put out 4 fires today. NO BULLSHIT FOR TOMORROW.

Good luck and happy berfdayz, Blue.

Most awesome coffee ever is a local brand of Hawaiian coffee called "Tired Ass Coffee."  I've never seen it for sale anywhere outside the islands but d-a-y-u-m is it good.

I've had "I'm gonna get in trouble...I'm gonna start a fight..." playing repeatedly in my head since I got up this morning.  I wonder if it's an omen?

Which badger are you going to poke today Ron?
Title: Re: Random thoughts of randomness
Post by: The 6th Rogue on Apr 22, 10, 09:49:54 am CDT
It may be all of them, it may be some of them, it may be that I've hired ninja to do it for me when I'm someplace else.  You won't know until after the poking is complete!
Title: Re: Random thoughts of randomness
Post by: Maggie on Apr 22, 10, 09:57:39 am CDT
First the poking.  And then the oral sex!!

Wait.  Wrong kind of poking.

I hope you packed your special badger poking stick today or the extra cash to hire the ninjas.  However, I'd recommend doing it yourself.  Nothing brings more satisfaction than gazing upon chaos that you, yourself have created.

I actually LIKE the Starbucks coffee, but don't drink it too much because I've severely reduced my caffeine intake.  I'm a HUGE fan of their green tea lattes, however.

For strange names, you should see some of the titles for Ravens Brew coffee out of Ketchikan, AK:  Dharma Beans, Three Peckered Billy Goat Blend, Deadman's Reach, etc.  www.ravensbrew.com

I got a compliment today:

"You know Sue - one day I am going to run into a woman who resembles you and who acts like you.  I am going to be nice to her and get her phone number.  Then I am going to fuck the living shit outta her.  Hope her name is Sue too.  If not I will just have to groan a lot."

The Drunkening...
+1  I don't know -- or care -- if you stole or coined it, but that could become classic.  ;)

Do you think we could get movie rights for it? A show Blue66669, one of a number of loveable immortals who must become drunk daily and have wild times ....  There can only be FUN!!!

I wouldnt mind being "trapped" in castle anthrax
oh, goody, we're back to pokin' and oral sex ...

No Starbucks for a hundred miles up here.  Everyone still hits up the Holiday gas station for their java.  Alot of poken going on though.  Not so much oral sex....dammit I so live in the wrong area.  Bager's up here are downright mean so no poking there.  At least there are no fellowships of the gerbil up here. Lots and lots of the drunkening since everyone is unemployed.  We are literally drinking the goverments money away!!

"The Drunkening" Good one Blue! Nice title if we ever make an IBRSC movie. And Happy belated B-day! Some of the best coffee I ever had is Kona coffee from Hawaii. Damn expensive stuff, but rich, smooth and very low acidity, especially if you get the 100% Kona bean and not a blend with others added. I am a fan of Starbucks, especially the lattes and Frappacinos. Thier Sumatra bold dark roast whole bean coffee is really good too. It's what I drink at home most of the time, though I am more of a hot tea drinker in the mornings, easier on the stomach and less expensive too. My favorite tea is Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea.
Hmmm, this thread has so many viable topics to comment on...
Poking and oral sex. Not getting nearly enough of either lately, sad to say. The Wife is going in for back surgery #2 in two weeks.
Ruptured discs do not make for a fun time in the bedroom. Or any other room for that matter.
Poking badgers: Never tried it, but I'd suggest a really long pointy stick, and full body armour.
Castle Anthrax: "A spanking a spanking, theres going to be a spanking!' Ah good times...
Overpaying to get exact coinage change back: I do this all the time to get quarters instead of smaller coins. Drives the teen and twenty-somethings cashiers nuts.
The dumbing down of the general population: I am witness to this everyday it seems. I really believe popular media & entertainment have ruined the intellect and attention span of contemporary society.

And yes... poke poke, snog snog, slurp slurp.

If I can ever make good on the alcohol I owe you - you are going to be drunk for a week and a a half.

I went and got a new printer last month and as I was installing the cords, I pulled out the old USB cord and this is what was written on the side.
"In the event of a technological catastrophe, do not use the USB cable as a noose, instead contact a Geek Squad Agent immediately."
