the device stopped just short of his nasal slots. A flash of light came and then vanished. Suddenly Frandort found himself, fully dresses in what looked to be a version of formal dress uniform. Standing next to him was Vestian in similar clothing.
 Before they could speak to each other they heard a voice.
It was not in any strange tongue but in their own language.
 The voice was saying, " Welcome to the United planets of Sol. You have been de-contaminated and processed with learning skills and given identity disks containing a sample of your DNA and necessary medical information. you will meet the local officials who will fill you in on the current history and politics of our system.After which should you be deemed responsible citizens you will be allowed further travel within our system."
Frandor and Vestian were astounded at the outcome of there recent experiences.  Frandor said, " Perhaps these people can help us with our empires difficulties. At least we have escaped from those who sought us out to destroy us."
Vestian agreed.
Soon they were escorted to a large room with  large table covered with a red cloth. There were pictures on the walls of the chamber showing some of the planets in this system.

Seated at the desk wasa gray-haired man with a silver pendant on his chest. Other officials roamed about the room.
When they reached the desk, the man began to speak.
"Welcome visitors I am ......

..... Vice Chairman Raphael Lindburg, of the Sol Ministry of Public Affairs. I am here to welcome you to our little corner of the Galaxy." He said with a huge grin on his, what the two travellers consider a some what ugly face. But he seemed friendly enough.
  Vestian spoke up first, ?"Um, excuse, but just where exactly is this SOL?"?//" And what race are you? What are you call?"/ The Chairman replied, "Ah yes, Sol is the name of our Star, our particular planet is called Earth, or Terra. I am not sure how you may measure distances and word your coordinances but according to the logs on board that old Earth ship you were on, you travel approximately 51,000 light years. Just how we are not yet sure, but we believe that ship was an experimental model design for opening worm holes instead of travelling in hyperspace. And where call ourselves Humans. Might I ask what race you two come from and what is the name of your home planet?"
 Frandor answered this question for the dual, he told the Humans.. "We are called...........

Polatus Primerans. Our Galaxy is a tightly packed one made up up both dying worlds and newly created stars and their attendant planets. The Empire of which our planet was a member was of the older dying planet of Carsus. The leaders were desperate to find new planets to exploit and  the Polatus ring of planets was attacked. My fellow travelor and I escaped and were followed. We are the official representatives
 of Polatus Prime the Largest of the planets in our Ring."
 Vestian spoke up " When our planet was attacked we rescued the scientific and political data on our system to save it from the Cursiana fleet. Discovering the old spacecraft helped us to escape from the empire and it's robotic warriors.

Although we got away we must try to save the rest of our Ring from destruction and the spread of the evil empire  to other worlds and Galaxies "
Lindburg then spoke up." Well my far traveled ambassadors, you are certainly safe here. Surely they could not possibly find you here?"

Just then a red light light up on Lindburg's desk
When he pushed the button nearby it a voice proclaimed "
Intruders entering Sol space Code three alert!

The screen on the wall changed from a picture of the planet to a deep space chart. Flashing on it were three dots in the outermost quadrant.

Frandor and Vestian stared at the chart. The dots continued to move inwardly.
 Frandor called to his friend Vestian." You don't suppose that could have anything to do with our problems?
 Lindburg expressed an opinion that the visitors seemed to be coming from the same area that Politus primans had arrived from.
Some Static seemed to interfere with the chart and suddenly...

[Magnus]

Loud booming voice and an ugly face showed up on the monitor. "People of this system. You are ordered to turn over the two fugitives you have with you. Do not try to protect them. You will be destroyed if you do not comply!"

The Vice Chairman spoke up.
"seems I was wrong"
"Well our visitors will have a surprise or two when they attempt to come further."
He gave orders to intercept and delay the intruders until the
Flaxian device is fully charged.

Responding to the Screen voice, he said"
You are recieving fair warning. Stop all hostile maneuvers or you will suffer the consequences. We will be meeting you in the area of space you now occupy. If you leave the area our only response is your complete destruction! This is the only warning you will recieve."

An aide came into the room to report that the Flaxian device was now charged.

The voice on the screen and the image diappeared and returned to the space grid. Many small lights now appeared converging on the intruders.

A series of connecting lines seemed to be forming from the systems ships. The Vice Chairman explained to Vestian and Frandor that an electronic net was forming to hold harmless any weaponry available to the invading ship.
Frandor  nodded and watched as his enemy was slowly surrounded.

Lindberg then met with his battle commanders who had assembled and began to plot their strategies to the threat.

He asked Frandor and Vestian to join the as they went to the War room.

After questioning Frandor and Vestian and recieving some of their valuable smuggled information, Lindberg turned to a screen on the wall and plotted travelk plans for the Sol fleet.
After this he ....

*SSSccccccrrrrreeeeeeeecccccchhhhhhh......* :O  Hold the brakes on now, An Electronic Net? This has the reminants of the Tholian Web Device from the orginal Star Trek, in the episode, "The Tholian Web".:-/  Except theirs would faze a ship out of existance. Ok, well I guess we can go that way, it's our story, so the heck with it, lets do it. :p

Vestian heard a voice muttering about something called Star Trek?? and Tholian web??? But figured it was just interstellar static. He and Frandor had been hearing broadcasts from old civilizations and figured this must be something on the same order. Many of these broadcasts when they could be interpretted by their ships computers had claims of early space exploration. Oh Well lets get on to our present dilemma. Vestian turned to Lindberg and said" ...

"I have an idea. What if reprogrammed the computer to initialize the main communications array to emit a large Ionic burst to try and disrupt the net? " Lindberg thought about it for a minute and told Vestian to give it a try. Vestian began the reprogramming. After several minutes the array was ready to go. The Vice Chairman gave the order to activate it. Vestian gave a nervous look to Frandor, who nodded... "Go ahead." Vestian hit the send key and..............
